Because my pantry is bare. I’m starting to wish that we’d gotten a whole CSA share to ourselves. We finished off all our veg yesterday, and it feels silly to buy a bunch more when we’ll be getting another share in two days. At least we know for next year.
This means that I don’t have any exciting CSA treats to share from the past few days. I have discovered a new favorite oatmeal combo though – sunflower seed butter, cinnamon, and bananas. So good!
And while I don’t have anything for you today, the lovely Eating Machine is giving away some Zevia (stevia-sweetened pop). And yes, I call it pop because I’m from the midwest. You can drink all the soda you want, but it will always be pop to me.
I so wish that I had a CSA!!! Someday soon, I swear! And, I wish I could give you some of my cupboards – they are full, and I’m headed out of town in a few days!
CSAs are so fabulous! I’ve been thrilled at how affordable it’s been, and we’re eating way more produce than we used to. I feel so good eating well and supporting small local farms at the same time!
We have a housefull of veggies and we are getting ready to leave town..wish you lived in Oregon! I’d unload some of them on you π I call it pop too…I was born in Wisconsin, and though I only lived there til I was 8, pop has always kind of stuck with me…
Too bad, that would be great for both of us! π
i wish i had an excuse to call it “pop.”
I say just go for it. If people ask pretend you spent some years doing an anthropological study of midwesterners. π
Do you like the sunflower seed butter? Hope so ; )
Sarah
I love it! I’m so glad that you blogged about it – I don’t know if I would have bought it if I’d just seen it in the store without hearing someone else’s take on it, but it is now my #1 favorite nut butter to add to oatmeal. It’s awesome!
i say soda because i like how it sounds when i say it… you’re welcome to call it whatever you want π
I’ll admit that “soda” slips into my vocab every now and then, but I’m hanging on to “pop” for dear life as one of the few vestiges of my midwestern upbringing. Gotta represent the heartland!
THat’s so funny! I say soda (I’m from Oregon) and everyone down here (Texas) thinks it’s crazy.
They all say Coke! No matter what it is…it’s a Coke! That’s just crazy talk.
My mom grew up in some crazy Texas-like pocket of California where they also said Coke for soda. When she moved to the midwest she was totally baffled. She’d ask for Coke and get a Coke and then be pissed because she really wanted a root beer.
